Azerbaijan’s claims of GPS positioning systems of 2 aircraft disrupted due to Artsakh’s Defense Army’s operations are false
The statement released by the Azerbaijani Ministry of
Defense that pertinent units of Artsakh’s Defense Army regularly suppress the
GPS positioning systems of civil aircraft flying through the airspace of
Artsakh, posing a serious threat to the safety of flights, is an absolute
falsehood.
The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan states that the last
similar incident allegedly occurred on July 13, when due to radio suppression
by the Defense Army, the GPS positioning systems of aircraft flying on the
Zangilan-Fizuli route at 11:54-12:07 and on the Fizuli-Baku route at
13:02-13:17 were disrupted. In reality, aircraft flying on the mentioned routes
do not need to cross the contact line, therefore they cannot be affected by
Defense Army’s radio suppression system.
Needless to say that throughout the hostilities in 2020 and
thereafter, it is the Azerbaijani side that consistently targets the civil
infrastructure of the Republic of Artsakh, blocking the Lachin Corridor,
disrupting gas and electricity supply lines and suppressing the internet and
cellular signals.
The press service of the Artsakh Ministry of Defense reports
about this.
