Armenian Defense Ministry spokesperson: A plane has crashed; There are casualties
At 9:30 a.m. on July 19, the Emergency Management Center of Kotayk Regional Rescue Department received an alarm that a plane had crashed near the town of Yeghvard, near the area called “Lcher”. According to the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, an AN-2 aircraft crashed, and two people were killed in the crash.
“The crashed plane was a military training aircraft. The Ministry of Defense expresses its condolences to the family members, relatives and fellow soldiers of the fallen pilots,” Armenian Defense Ministry Spokesman Aram Torosyan told ABC media.
“According to preliminary information, an AN-2 model of plane was mentioned. According to the confirmed data, the plane was a Yak-52,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
