Armenia demands that Azerbaijan end use of force in RA sovereign territory regarding Yeraskh plant

Armenia demands that Azerbaijan end use of force in RA sovereign territory regarding Yeraskh plant

Armenia responded to Azerbaijan’s letter regarding the
Yeraskh metallurgical plant, demanding that Azerbaijan end the use of force in
the sovereign territory of Armenia.

Azerbaijan had accused Armenia of failing to adhere to the
Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context during
the construction of the metallurgical plant in Yeraskh.

“We have responded to their accusations and noted the criteria
according to which the plant is going to run. The plant is not being
constructed in violation of any standards. We demand that Azerbaijan end the
use of force in the sovereign territory of Armenia. In fact, on account of the
fire opened on the construction site, workers have suffered injuries and
material damage has been caused. Thus, Azerbaijan itself brutally breaches some
Articles of that very Convention, while Armenia complies with all the
obligations it assumed under international law,” Spokesperson for the RA
Ministry of Environment Ani Hakobyan told Armenpress.
