Armenia has sent humanitarian aid worth €50.000 to Slovenia
to help mitigate the effects of the natural disaster that occurred on Aug. 3-4.
The flooding destroyed bridges, roads and buildings. In a conversation with
Armenpress, Spokesperson for the RA Foreign Ministry Ani Badalyan referred to
the aid provided to Slovenia.
“As you already know, Slovenia faced the most dreadful natural
disaster in its history: flooding that affected nearly two-third of the
country. Highlighting the importance of an appropriate response to natural
disasters, and, if necessary, that of coordination of efforts to fight them,
during a visit to Slovenia in August 2023, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat
Mirzoyan expressed Armenia’s readiness to help Slovenia mitigate the effects of
the flooding. This emphasizes both the importance of assistance and political
solidarity in such situations — which Armenia has encountered as well — and the
increased cooperation between the two countries,” Badalyan noted.
