Iranian Parliament speaker visits Beirut to express support for Lebanon
Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf held talks with the Lebanese prime minister in Beirut, local media reports.
The Lebanese prime minister’s visit took place early this week, when a number of neighborhoods of Beirut were affected by Israeli airstrikes. Ghalibaf noted that the main purpose of his visit was to show solidarity with Lebanon, taking into account the military operations carried out by the Israeli army in the south of the country.
During the visit, the official emphasized Iran’s support for Lebanon’s security and the importance of cooperation in the face of challenges in the region.
