Iran is ready to help ease the tension in the Caucasus
region. As mehrnews.com reports, Maj. Gen. Bagheri said this at his meeting
with Secretary of the RA State Council Armen Grigoryan.
“The continuation of tension in this region does not act in
the interests of Armenia, Azerbaijan or any other countries in the region. We
call for measures to settle disputes and ease tensions in the region,” Maj.
Gen. Bagheri noted. He added that there should be no aggressive goal or
intention behind any country’s plans to increase its defense capabilities.
According to him, the presence of non-regional forces will
cause instability in the region.
“Regional peace is in everyone’s interests, and regional
security must be ensured by the countries of the region. The presence of
non-regional forces disturbs the peace in the region,” he noted.
