Soon it will be known who will be the new ambassador of Russia to the U.S. The candidacy is in the process of registration, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
“The procedure will be completed soon, and additional information will be provided in this regard,” Lavrov said at a press briefing, adding that Moscow will not create obstacles on this.
“We assume that the U.S. Republican administration will also be interested in the appointment of a new ambassador to Russia,” Lavrov noted.
Now the U.S. ambassador to Russia is Lynne Tracy, who served as the U.S. ambassador to Armenia before that.
