Turkey has received an offer from BRICS to transition from the status of a partner country to that of an associate member, Ermenihaber reports, referring to Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat.
“BRICS is an organization for cooperation that includes important countries that account for 25% of global GDP.
The popularity of BRICS is growing. Regarding Turkey’s membership in BRICS, I can say that we have been offered associate membership,” the Turkish official stated.
According to him, joining BRICS would bring significant benefits to Turkey and create prerequisites for cooperation with all major global platforms.
