Due to the unrest and protests in the country, President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania has left the capital Sukhumi, the president’s press service told TASS. Currently, Bzhania is in his native village of Tamish.
To remind, demonstrations have been taking place in Abkhazia for several days. The protesters initially demanded that the project of the investment agreement with Russia not be ratified.
The demonstration later evolved into riots; the protesters broke the gates of the Parliament and broke into the president’s residence.
