Expert on Azerbaijani studies: Azerbaijan wants to reap dividends from the international community
The exchange of prisoners at the state border is just a
formality for Azerbaijan. Expert on Azerbaijani Studies Aram Poladyan said this
to ABC Media, noting that this will have no significant impact on the course of
the negotiations.
“In parallel with making warlike statements, introducing the
term “Western Azerbaijan” into the political discourse, and organizing festivals
dedicated to it, they do such things to reap dividends from the international
community,” Poladyan said.
To remind, today, in the Ghazakh-Ijevan section of the
border, Armenia handed over to Azerbaijan two Azerbaijanis who had illegally
entered Syunik Province. One of them had committed a murder while in Armenia.
Azerbaijan, in turn, released 32 Armenian POWs.
