Mother Armenia Alliance proposes new Council of Elders elections if no consensus is reached

The Mother Armenia Alliance, which had run for the Yerevan
Council of Elders elections, issued a statement noting that only the consensus
between the Opposition forces can make the overthrow of the Civil Contract
Party possible.

“Considering the need to be honest with our people, we call
on the parties, considered opposition forces as a result of the Yerevan Council
of Elders elections, to make clear statements that will not give rise to
multiple interpretations and will open up an opportunity to jointly exclude the
possibility of the current authority’s re-election.

In case of a lack of consensus — that is, not attending the
session and preventing a quorum — the new Yerevan Council of Elders election
will be the only solution in the given situation,” reads the statement.
