Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stated that a collective decision should be made regarding negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. According to Armenpress, Merkel said this in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

“Of course, negotiations should not take place without Ukraine’s participation. At the same time, I believe that many countries supporting Ukraine must come together to decide when it would be appropriate to discuss a diplomatic resolution with Russia. Kyiv cannot make this decision alone,” Merkel said, adding that she is unaware of when this might happen.
