Turkey refuses entry to Canadian journalist who covered ethnic cleansing in Artsakh
Turkey has refused Canadian journalist Neil Hauer entry into the country. The journalist stated on X that he had traveled to Turkey from Yerevan for tourism purposes but was detained and informed that he was on a “blacklist.”
“After 16 hours, I was sent back to Armenia from Istanbul Airport. I have committed no offense. I rarely report on Turkey, and I do not address Kurdish or Gülen-related issues because foreign journalists face problems there.
I suspect that this ban was imposed at Azerbaijan’s request, or at least with its involvement. I have extensively covered Azerbaijan’s actions in Nagorno-Karabakh and the ethnic cleansing carried out by Aliyev’s regime,” the journalist wrote.
