5 of 6 CSTO presidents to attend CSTO summit in Astana
CIS General Secretary Sergey Lebedev and SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming have been invited to attend the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit, set to take place in Astana on Nov. 28, the press service of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry stated.
The event will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
The report does not mention anything about the participation of Armenian representatives.
“During the meeting, it is planned to discuss current issues of international and regional security, as well as the implementation of measures aimed at fulfilling the priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan during its chairmanship in the CSTO this year,” the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The CSTO secretary general is expected to make a press statement after the signing ceremony.
