The verdict on Avetik Chalabyan’s case will be announced on
Dec. 21. The presiding judge said this in the courtroom.
“The whole process is politicized. You can see that the
punishment depends on the ban on my political activity. The prosecutor said
they will try to secure a verdict, forbidding me to organize or attend
gatherings, or to engage in political activities,” Chalabyan said after the
court hearing.
According to Chalabyan, the prosecution has not been able to
prove him guilty.
He is charged with offering bribes to the student government
president of Armenian National Agrarian University in exchange for participating
in Opposition protests and performing certain actions.
