Israel eliminates nearly 3,000 Hezbollah fighters in 14 months
During the 14-month military campaign against Hezbollah, the Israeli military has attacked more than 12,500 targets of the movement, The Times of Israel reports, citing the Israel Defense Forces.
In particular, 1,600 command posts and 1,000 weapons depots were hit. The military also carried out more than 100 special operations.
According to the IDF, Hezbollah’s losses stand at a minimum of 2,500 people and a maximum of about 3,500 people. Among the dead are Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and 13 members of the organization’s top leadership. In addition, the IDF reported the elimination of 136 commanders of various ranks.
It was noted that the IDF seized 12,000 explosives and drones, 13,000 rockets, rocket launchers, anti-tank and anti-aircraft systems, and 120,000 pieces of communications equipment.
The Israeli army and Hezbollah ceased hostilities on Nov. 27. The parties agreed that the Lebanese army would restore control over the territories bordering Israel, and Hezbollah forces would withdraw approximately 40 km from the Israeli-Lebanese border.
At the same time, the Israeli military warned that in the event of danger, they reserve the right to open fire on Hezbollah positions.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he had ordered the Israeli army to prepare for “intense war” if Hezbollah violates the ceasefire.
