CSTO secretary general: Armenia has been and remains our ally
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) continues to consider Armenia an ally, despite the fact that Yerevan does not participate in the organization’s events, TASS reports, citing the organization’s Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
“As we know, the Republic of Armenia has suspended its activities in the organization, and this reflects the current stance of the Armenian political leadership regarding the CSTO. However, I must note that this is the decision of an independent and sovereign state, which no one can influence—neither any state nor any organization. Nevertheless, we believe that Armenia has been and remains our ally,” the CSTO secretary general said, expressing hope that Armenia will return to full participation in the organization’s events in the near future.
He noted that Armenia’s stance on the organization was also discussed during the CSTO meeting.
