4,600 intellectual property violations registered and 5.8 million counterfeit goods imported into EAEU in past year
The majority of counterfeit consumer goods entering the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market come from China, the U.S., the UAE, Turkey, Poland, Uzbekistan, and Georgia, Bakhyt Sultanov, member of the Board for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said.
“Counterfeit consumer goods include clothing and footwear, games and toys, auto parts, food products, alcoholic beverages, household appliances, and electronics, as well as accessories,” Sultanov noted.
He added that in 2024, more than 4,600 intellectual property violations have been registered and about 5.8 million counterfeit goods imported into EAEU countries.
