Abkhazia left without electricity
All of Abkhazia has been left without electricity after the Enguri hydroelectric power station halted operations due to critically low water levels.
“Due to the critical water levels in the reservoir and insufficient water inflow, the Enguri hydroelectric power station has been forced to perform an emergency shutdown. To ensure stable energy supply, there are plans to arrange a new electricity supply schedule,” Chernomorenergo reports.
The Enguri HPP is the only power station supplying Abkhazia.
