Russia’s Foreign Ministry urges its citizens to avoid trips to US

The Russian Foreign Ministry is urging Russian citizens to refrain from private and business trips to the United States and its allied countries due to the risk of arbitrary detention by U.S. authorities, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing.

“Given the growing confrontation in Russian-American relations, which are on the brink of collapse due to the actions of Washington, traveling to the United States for private or official reasons carries serious risks,” Interfax news agency writes, quoting Zakharova.

She noted that the ministry has addressed this issue multiple times, but this is the first time a direct appeal has been made from the Foreign Ministry regarding this matter.
