US Embassy in Azerbaijan on hundreds of political prisoners in the country
The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan has responded to the host of the “Həftə” (“Week”) program, who once again accused the U.S. of anti-Azerbaijani policies, using undiplomatic language.
The program highlighted phrases such as “blatant blackmail” and “shame” this month.
“It’s a good effort, but it does not distract attention from the fact that more than 300 political prisoners are kept in Azerbaijani jails on dubious charges, spending holidays far from their families,” the embassy said in a Facebook post.
