Zakharova: The South Caucasus region is experiencing tragedy

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated at a press briefing that the South Caucasus region is currently experiencing a tragedy.

“For many years, our armed forces have been restraining this degradation and the region as a whole. Now, a tragedy is unfolding. Everyone is just trying to understand what could have been done to prevent everything from reaching a global peak,” Zakharova said, adding that everything should be done—as Russia has been doing for years—to avoid the escalation and degradation of the situation.
