American entrepreneur Elon Musk believes that due to the current rate of the Sun’s expansion, Earth will become uninhabitable in 500 million years.

According to Musk, the Sun will explode in five billion years. He suggests that Mars may be humanity’s best chance for survival.

In September, Musk stated that humanity must master interstellar travel; otherwise, it could face extinction in the future due to the Sun’s expansion or a collision with an asteroid.
