World’s largest cargo aircraft operator ready to make flights to Armenia
Russian Volga-Dnepr Airlines, the largest private operator of An-124 Ruslan and Il-76 cargo aircraft, is ready to carry out flights to Armenia, offer multimodal solutions for various types of cargo, and participate in staff training, Anatoly Zagordan, head of the airline’s engineering center, told Sputnik Armenia.
Earlier, representatives of the company participated in a roundtable discussion on Armenia’s logistics market organized by the Russian Trade Representation.
There are heavier aircraft than Ruslan in the world, such as Airbus A380 (with a maximum takeoff weight of 560 tons compared to the 402-ton 100-150 modified version of An-124). However, there is currently no cargo version of the A380. The initial model of the An-124 has a cargo capacity of 120 tons, but there is also a modified version of the aircraft capable of carrying up to 150 tons.
