TikTok unavailable in US as company awaits Trump’s decision
A law has come into effect in the United States that bans the operation of the popular social network TikTok due to security concerns, the BBC reports. When users open the app, they see the following message:
“TikTok is currently unavailable. The U.S. has enacted a law banning TikTok. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot use the app for now. Fortunately, President Trump has indicated that after taking office, he will work with us to find a solution to relaunch TikTok.”
The day before, Donald Trump told NBC News and ABC that he intends to extend TikTok’s operations for 90 days until a solution is found. The U.S. president-elect has promised to make a relevant announcement after his inauguration.
