To remind, the Armenian team has won two medals in the 2023
World Weightlifting Championships. Gor Sahakyan won a bronze with a total of
312 kg (142+170) in the men’s 67 kg event. Varazdat Lalayan became a two-time
silver medalist in the men’s super-heavyweight event with a total of 460 kg.
Gor Sahakyan also took a bronze medal in the snatch. Lalayan
won bronzes in the snatch and the clean and jerk.
To remind, more than 700 athletes from 120 countries were
competing in the 2023 World Weightlifting Championships. The championships
served as a qualifier for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
