Peskov: Putin would be glad to receive Trump in Moscow on May 9

Russian President Vladimir Putin would be pleased to receive foreign leaders, including his American counterpart Donald Trump, in Moscow on May 9—if they come, Interfax writes, referring to Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov.

“This is a day that symbolizes victory over fascism. Unfortunately, this topic is more relevant now than ever. Therefore, if there are countries, especially large ones, that decide to share the joy of this victory and the significance of this day with us, then, of course, we and especially President Putin would be happy to receive them in Moscow,” Peskov said.

Speaking about negotiations aimed at ending the war, Peskov noted that Ukraine will definitely participate in the settlement talks in some form, but there will be bilateral discussions between Russia and the U.S. as well.

To remind, yesterday, phone conversations took place between Trump and Putin, and then  between Trump and Zelenskyy. The parties discussed issues related to ending the war.
