4 Palestinians released by Israel taken to hospital
As part of the latest prisoner exchange, Israel has released 36 Palestinians who had been sentenced to life imprisonment.
According to Qatar’s Al Jazeera TV channel, four of them were taken to the exchange site in critical condition and were immediately taken to the hospital.
As noted, only one of the 36 released Palestinians will return to the Gaza Strip; 11 will go to the West Bank, while 24 will be deported from Palestine. Al Jazeera reports that the state of their health is of serious concern, and some of the released individuals were in need of immediate medical assistance.
The exchange of prisoners took place on Saturday, during which 369 Palestinians were released. This was the largest exchange of prisoners since the ceasefire deal came into effect in the Gaza Strip. According to Palestinian authorities, most of those released were held in Israeli prisons for months or even years without charges against them.
