Israeli army’s chief of staff: 2025 will be a year of war focused on Gaza and Iran

Incoming IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir told the high command on Thursday night that 2025 will be a year of war focused on Gaza and Iran, with other fronts also being given attention, The Jerusalem Post writes.

Zamir said he will emphasize the concept of “victory” as an important value, as, in recent years, the IDF has been focused on relative victory or deterrence.

Zamir officially assumed the position of Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces on March 5. During the ceremony, he was solemnly awarded the highest rank in the Israeli army, i.e. lieutenant general.

He expressed gratitude for the trust and promised to lead Israel to military success. Addressing the families of the hostages in the Gaza Strip, Zamir assured them he would do his best to free them.
