Russia and US agree in Riyadh to hold negotiations on Iran
Representatives of Russia and the U.S. have agreed in Riyadh to hold separate negotiations on the situation over Iran. However, the format and timing of these talks have not yet been determined, RIA Novosti reports, citing Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
Ushakov confirmed that the situation in Iran was discussed during the U.S.-Russia negotiations in Riyadh.
“Yes, we discussed the situation in Iran, and we agreed to hold separate negotiations on this issue,” Ushakov told reporters when asked to comment on Western media reports suggesting that the Iranian issue was raised in Riyadh.
However, he clarified that “so far, there have been no clear signals from Washington regarding how and when this will be implemented.”
