Borrell: The EU will increase the number of its monitors in Armenia by 50%, making it 209

The EU foreign ministers have decided to increase the number
of EU monitors in Armenia by 50%, making it 209. High Representative of the Union
for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said this at a press
conference following the EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting.

“Today, the EU foreign ministers have decided to expand our
civilian mission in Armenia, increasing the number of monitors from 138 to 209.
The increase in the number of monitors will contribute to stability along the
Armenian-Azerbaijani international border,” Borrell said.
