Serbian lawmakers approve government resignation

Serbian lawmakers have approved the resignation of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević on Wednesday, Interfax reports, citing Serbian broadcaster RTS.

“The approval of the prime minister’s resignation means that the government becomes technical (all ministers become acting ministers). In addition, the countdown to the 30-day period during which a new government must be formed begins today,” the TV channel reports.

Vučević announced his resignation on Jan. 28, following the November 2024 collapse of a section of the Novi Sad railway station roof, which resulted in 15 fatalities.
