Zakharova: There are still many important issues in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Russia welcomes the progress in the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process. She noted that the agreement on the text regarding the establishment of peace and interstate relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan is a significant step toward the long-awaited security and prosperity in the South Caucasus.

“Of course, there are still many important issues in the peace process, including global ones, that are awaiting resolution. These include the unblocking of transport and economic ties, as well as delimitation and humanitarian issues. We reaffirm our readiness to provide support to our partners in Armenia and Azerbaijan in all directions, in the manner and extent required by both sides,” Zakharova stated.
