Zakharova welcomes Pashinyan’s and Aliyev’s decision to attend May 9 events in Moscow
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova welcomed the decision of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to participate in the May 9 events in Moscow dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
“We remember the contribution of each of the nations of the Soviet Union and their significant role in the decisive victory over German Nazism,” Zakharova noted, adding that both the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples had significant participation in the military operations of the Great Patriotic War.
“The most important thing is that they are not rewriting history, but are doing everything to preserve it and pass it on to future generations,” Zakharova said.
