Former presidents of Artsakh

Since the declaration of independence, that is September,
1991, Arsakh has had four presidents, namely Robert Kocharyan, Arkadi
Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan.

Before the formation of the State Defense Committee,
Parliament was the supreme body of Artsakh. The actual leader of the country
was the chairman of the Supreme Council — at that time Artur Mkrtchyan.
