Spanish prime minister calls on US to for dialogue with Brussels and ‘Stop this nonsense’
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez expressed confidence that in the future, the EU will be able to establish a community of armed forces.
“We, on the European side, need to take steps toward integration,” Sánchez stated during a forum held in Madrid.
He announced that he is convinced that the EU will “achieve the goal of having a European armed force” in the future. “Because if we do this, I am sure that our deterrence capacity will be greater,” the official believes.
“It will be very important that we can guarantee a multilateral order, respect for international law, the protection of international humanitarian law, and thus, prosperity,” he added.
Speaking about the tariffs announced by the U.S., Sánchez urged the U.S. administration to reconsider its stance, engage in dialogue with Brussels, and “stop this nonsense.”
