Thousands demonstrate in Paris in support of Marine Le Pen
Today, a large rally was held in Paris in support of Marine Le Pen, Leader of the National Rally party in the French National Assembly, who has been barred by the court from being elected to government positions, RIA Novosti reports.
The rally began at Place Vauban, with demonstrators raising French national flags. Among Le Pen’s supporters were people of various ages, including both young and elderly individuals.
Le Pen herself arrived at the rally, accompanied by security personnel. Party leader Jordan Bardella stated in his speech that the day of Le Pen’s guilty verdict would be remembered in history as a dark day, and that the unjust and scandalous judicial decision against her was aimed at removing her from the presidential race. He added that this was a direct attack on democracy.
“This decision trampled on my people, my country, and my honor. I want everyone to know that I unequivocally emphasize the political nature of this process. This is not a court decision; this is a political decision, a hunt for politicians,” Le Pen said in her speech.
