EU instructs candidates not to attend May 9 parade in Moscow
The European Union has issued clear instructions to candidate countries not to participate in the parade taking place in Moscow on May 9 and not to visit Russia, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže said in Luxembourg on April 14 during the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
According to Braže, during an official dinner with representatives from the Western Balkan countries on Sunday, April 13, the European side provided them with clear instructions not to participate in the Moscow celebrations dedicated to May 9.
“Yesterday, we had a busy evening dining with our Western Balkan partners… There were many discussions about values, common foreign and security policy, including the coordination of sanctions. This includes very clear instructions from EU member states to candidates not to participate in the May 9 parade in Moscow, not to make such trips, as it does not align with EU values,” Braže stated.
