India imposes ban on import and transit of goods from Pakistan
India has imposed an immediate ban on the import and transit of goods from Pakistan until further notice, RIA Novosti writes, referring to India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
“All imports or transits of goods—whether direct or indirect—from Pakistan are hereby prohibited with immediate effect until further notice. This restriction is being implemented in the interest of national security and public policy,” the agency stated.
The announcement further clarifies that any exceptions to this ban will require prior approval from the Government of India.
