Oskanyan: The peace agreement is about to be signed, but the point concerning Artsakh has been removed from the draft version
The so-called peace agreement is put on the table now. As
far as I know, there has been substantial progress in this regard, and it is
about to be signed. Former Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanyan said
this during a Facebook live stream.
He said that the point concerning the rights and
independence of the people of Artsakh has been removed from the document.
“There is no mention of Artsakh there, and signing such an
agreement will mean closing the chapter of Artsakh. It is no coincidence that
recently the president of Azerbaijan said that Armenians should forget
Artsakh,” Oskanyan said, adding that it is impossible, and we can never forget
Artsakh.
He noted that by concluding such a document, the RA
authorities will consign Artsakh to oblivion.
“Azerbaijan should realize that they are going to conclude
this agreement with Nikol Pashinyan and his administration, and not with
Armenia or the Armenian people; the Armenian people can never forget Artsakh,”
Oskanyan said, noting that the issue of the return of the Artsakh Armenians
should be discussed within the framework of the agreement.
