US restricts diplomatic movement in Pakistan
The United States has restricted the movement of its diplomats in Pakistan amid airstrikes carried out by Kabul on Indian military facilities, Reuters reports.
On the same day, Pakistan’s military advised all residents across the country to remain indoors until further notice.
Earlier, the U.S. had offered assistance in helping de-escalate the conflict between India and Pakistan. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks on Friday with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Asim Munir, urging both sides to find ways to resolve the conflict peacefully.
On the morning of May 10, Pakistan announced the launch of a military operation against India, targeting the neighboring country’s airports and missile depots. The operation has been named “Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs”.
