Only the side equally distant from both conflict parties can act as a true mediator, says Peskov

Trump’s position is neutral, and he is really engaged in matters of settlement, whereas the stance of European politicians is openly pro-Ukrainian, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Pavel Zarubin, a journalist of Russia 1, commenting on the phone conversation between the presidents of Russia and the U.S.

Peskov noted that only the side that maintains an equal distance from the conflicting parties can truly act as a mediator.
