Israel and Azerbaijan agree to expand cooperation in defense

A meeting was held in Tel Aviv between the heads of the Israeli and Azerbaijani Defense Ministries, Azerbaijani media outlets say.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz met with Azerbaijani counterpart Zakir Hasanov. The sides agreed to expand cooperation in the defense sector.

During the meeting, Katz highly appreciated the deep strategic alliance between the two countries and emphasized the importance of shared interests and mutual trust.

The Israeli defense minister also expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support after the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, as well as for the mediating efforts between Israel and Turkey.
