
Shots fired near CIA headquarters
Shots were fired near the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), resulting in one security officer being injured, NBC reports.
The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. local time outside the agency’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia.
“The main gates of the headquarters are closed until further notice. Please use alternative routes,” the CIA stated.
According to CBS News, security personnel opened fire on a female driver who approached the gates and did not stop.
The woman was taken to a medical facility with injuries.
An investigation is currently underway to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
