NATO and EU Information Center in Georgia to close in July
The Georgian authorities have announced that the NATO and EU Information Center in Tbilisi will be closed starting from July 1, 2025, BM.ge reports.
It is noted that the center’s staff have received notices about the cessation of activities. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia clarified that the center’s functions will be transferred to the ministry, which, according to them, is only part of a restructuring plan and does not mean abandoning the Euro-Atlantic course.
The NATO and EU Information Center in Georgia, established in 2005, was created to inform people about Georgia’s integration process with NATO. In 2013, this mission was expanded to include the promotion of the European Union and its activities. Since 2017, the center has operated under the auspices of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
