RA Investigative Committee: The serviceman shot his senior dead with an assault rifle, then killed himself

The Third Garrison Investigative Unit of the General
Military Investigative Department is conducting an investigation into the death
circumstances of two servicemen of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of
Defense.

On Aug. 27, 2023, the Investigative Committee received a
report that around 4:00 p.m., in the military position of the N military unit
of the RA Ministry of Defense, observer of the same post, serviceman A.H. shot
his senior A. Kh. dead with his AK-74 assault rifle. Afterward, he shot himself
in the chin with the same weapon. A.H. died from a gunshot wound as a result.

Criminal proceedings regarding the case have been brought
under Article 155, Part 1 and Article 522, Part 2, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal
Code.

The investigation is underway. According to preliminary
reports, the cause for the incident was interpersonal relationships between the
servicemen.
