Anti-war protest held in New York in support of Iran

Anti-war protests have begun in New York and other U.S. cities in response to the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, NBC News reports.

Participants in the march walked through the city center carrying banners with messages such as “Hands off Iran,” “Stop the war in Iran,” and “No new war in the Middle East.”

The protesters expressed concern that Washington’s actions could hinder the possibility of signing any international agreement regarding Iranian nuclear weapons, the news outlet notes. The organizers of the march are calling for the U.S. president to resign and are criticizing Democrats, whom they believe have not sufficiently condemned the actions of the head of state. At the same time, Americans are calling for a cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
