Israel intended to assassinate Iran’s supreme leader

Israel had plans to eliminate Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but the opportunity did not present itself, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated.

“If he had been in our sights, we would have taken him out,” Katz said, adding, “We wanted to eliminate Khamenei, but there was no operational opportunity.”

When asked whether Israel received approval from the United States for such an operation, Katz stated, “We don’t need permission for such things.”
