Moscow closely monitoring developments in Armenia, says Russia’s foreign ministry
Moscow is closely monitoring the developments taking place in Armenia, including the situation surrounding the Armenian Apostolic Church and its spiritual center in Etchmiadzin, Russia’s Foreign Ministry told the TASS.
“We do not make it a habit to interfere in the internal affairs of other states. However, we are sincerely interested in stability, the rule of law, and sustainable development in friendly and brotherly Armenia. To achieve this, it is important to put into practice the commitment to democratic values, respect for the feelings of the faithful, and principles of religious freedom—all of which have been proclaimed by Armenia’s leadership,” the ministry stated.
