Nuclear weapons could make Tehran more vulnerable, says Araghchi
Iran considers nuclear weapons inhumane and contrary to Islamic principles, which could make Tehran much more vulnerable, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
“We regard nuclear weapons not only as inhumane but also as contrary to Islamic principles. Secondly, we do not believe that the protection of our state requires nuclear weapons. Such arms would make us much more vulnerable,” Araghchi told CBS.
Commenting on negotiations with the United States regarding the nuclear issue, Araghchi stated that Tehran is currently trying to understand whether it is worth trusting Washington and entering into new negotiations amid the Iran-Israel conflict and the involvement of the U.S. in it.
